Company History

J. & W. Lowry Limited is a family owned building contracting business which has been able to offer a service to many Architects, Engineers and Clients since it was first established in 1848. The Company is experienced in new build domestic, commercial, industrial and shop-fitting, as well as alterations and extensions to existing properties including restoration and refurbishment of listed and historical buildings. Typical projects range in value from between £20,000 up to £2,500,000. The Company also has a fully equipped in house joinery manufacturing workshop and is able to provide all types of bespoke joinery products ranging from door sets, traditional windows, staircases, and purpose made products designed to individual requirements. When requested the Company can provide a full service to customers extending to the appointment of Architects and Design Consultants to obtain detailed planning consent and building control approvals as well as construction work from inception to handover and occupation.
