Managing Director

Stephen Foster qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1980 after completing an Honours Degree in Quantity Surveying. Stephen worked for several years in private practice as a Chartered Surveyor  throughout the UK in Sheffield, Newcastle, Birmingham and overseas in Lesotho, Southern Africa  before returning to the UK and North East of England in 1986. In 1989 after completing a law degree Stephen purchased a majority shareholding in J & W Lowry Limited and acquired the remaining shareholding in the company in 1995.

Stephen as Managing Director has continued to trade the business specialising in delivering quality construction projects. Stephen’s business interests expanded into property development delivering specialised residential care home projects on a turnkey basis in conjunction with J & W Lowry Limited and Roseville Asset Management Limited for a number of different care home operators throughout the North of England.

Head of Development

Thomas is the head of development at J. & W. Lowry Ltd, he is responsible for the overall management of all aspects of property development within the business. Since adopting the role he has relaunched the business, focusing on independent supported living, adult residential care and elderly care. His roles include site identification, acquisition, budget control across all projects and procurement of the works to ensure successful delivery. Throughout the project stages Thomas is responsible for establishing and managing the professional team to ensure a viable design and exit strategy is achieved.

Thomas is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, he graduated from Northumberia University with a First Class Honours Degree in Quantity Surveying and joined the company in 2008. He has a wide range of experience in Residential, Commercial and Care sectors both in the North East and South East regions. Thomas, relocated to central London in 2015 and has specialised in the cost control and project management of residential and commercial projects. His core strengths are in construction design economics, cost estimating, stakeholder management and construction management.
